What we are Working On.

Our goal is to work with local governments to help decrease risk on known dangerous infrastructure through helping fund and coordinate better and safer bike parking solutions. This approach is aimed at improving safety on streets where pedestrian and bike infrastructure is at its worst, but where the need to use these facilities is at its highest. By having safe, locked, and covered bike storage on the county’s main bus lines, people will be able to better use alternative transit. These shelters get bikes off the roads, where both the bicyclist and the car driver are put at greater risk of accidents. Further, this provides the ability for individuals who rely on bikes and e-bikes to get to transit routes without excess risk and stress. This also decreases barriers to transit, such as e-bikes not fitting into bus bike racks or worrying about racks being full and having to wait for the next bus.

This approach is a relatively quick and lower-cost solution to the long-term problem governments and communities are working on - improving overall infrastructure on dangerous networks. Those projects can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and take 10 to 20 years to complete.

LA Metro has created bike hubs, like the one featured above at Union Station, at every Metro station, giving commuters places to securely store their bicycles, as well as gain access to other bike-related amenities and services.

Advocating and Working on Solutions for Communities.

One of our main goals is to increase transit access and better pedestrian and cycling infrastructure for communities wishing to improve infrastructure. As part of this mission, we work directly with the community. We directly reach out to community leaders to understand their needs, or ways their communities may be underserved, and work with these groups to help coordinate on finding solutions.
